Keyboarding
Grades 9-12

This course is offered for students at any grade level. Students will develop proficient alphabetic and numeric keyboarding skills. Skills taught include touch keyboarding (without looking at keys), document formatting - letters and reports, keying from rough-draft copy, composing, and interpreting proofreaders’ marks. Keyboarding skill is of utmost importance in today’s world no matter which walk of life you follow.
Microsoft Word
Grades 9-12

Microsoft Word 2002 is the word processing application of the Office XP suite. Students will demonstrate various elements of document formatting, such as spacing, margins, indents, tabs, work formatting, and paragraph formatting. This course is offered to students at any grade level and is encouraged for all students. Emphasis will also be placed on continuing keyboarding proficiency.
Prerequisite: Demonstrated keyboard proficiency of 35 wpm or better
Microsoft Excel
Grades 9-12

Microsoft Excel 2002 is the spreadsheet application of the office XP suite. Students will be able to format data in a spreadsheet using various formatting techniques including fonts, borders/shading, alignment, and spacing. Students will be introduced to formulas and functions and will demonstrate the ability to create charts and graphs.
Prerequisite: Basic Computer Proficiency
Microsoft PowerPoint
Grades 9-12

Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 is the presentation application of the Office XP suite. Students will demonstrate the ability to create and format presentations. Students will utilize various formatting techniques to enhance their presentations such as clip art, charts and sounds.

Web Page Design
Grades 10-12
1 elective credit
This course is built around the designing of Web Pages. The student will use the HTML language and earn how to use compilers, a web-page application. The student will learn how to use a digital camera and a scanner to enhance their work. Students will develop skills necessary to build pages for both business and government and will build a page for themselves. Students need to have the ability to attend to detail and be self-motivated.
Prerequisite: Successful Completion of One Credit in Computer Course(s)
